Nursery Rhyme & Lullaby Lyrics

Nursery rhymes and lullabies are a staple of any childhood. I remember singing them with my family, teacher and friends. However after my baby was born, I soon realized that the only lullaby that I remembered was Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. After soothing my newborn to sleep with the same song over and over again, I realized that I need a course in Nursery Rhyme and Lullaby Lyrics 101.

Below are nursery rhyme and lullaby lyrics to some of the most common songs we knew and loved as kids. I've tried to provide the history, origin and meaning of the songs when I could find it. There are two categories, one list of songs for putting your baby to sleep and one list for playtime.
