Elle MacPherson La Mere Maternity Bra Review

I had seen the Elle MacPherson La Mere maternity bra on Oprah a few years ago when I was nursing my first son. While I was on too tight of a budget at the time to splurge on it since it is an expensive bra, but I decided to treat myself when my second son was born. Still being a bit of a tightwad, I did a little research and found it was the cheapest at figleaves.com for $55 (usually sold for $62).

My package came within a week with standard shipping and it was wrapped in a gift box, complete with tissue which made opening my package just that much more special. I have to say, La Mere is a beautiful bra. I ordered it in 'jet' and it looks just like the picture below. The construction is very high quality and would certainly last through extended breastfeeding of multiple children... I wish I would have ordered it with my first baby! Not only is this bra completely functional, but it makes me feel beautiful too, which is priceless when I'm sleep deprived and covered in day old spit up.

The only negative thing I can say about it is that the lace, while soft, can be a little itchy to my sensitive skin. I hardly notice it during the day, but by the evening, I'm glad to take it off. This hasn't stopped me from wearing it frequently, however. Overall I think La Mere maternity bra is worth the price and I would definately recommend it to anyone planning on breastfeeding.
